Abstract

The purpose of this survey was to determine through empirical evidence, the most potent factors that have improved the rate of subscription of students to Babcock University as well as explore other reliable methods so that the enrolment of students in Babcock University is sustained. The researcher used the survey research design method to carry out the study. The study elicited responses from the entire population of 2053 first-year students enrolled at Babcock University for the 2021/2022 academic session. A self-developed simple questionnaire was used to collect data from the students. The questionnaire was administered through face-to-face interaction. The data collected were analysed descriptively using simple frequencies and percentages. Findings revealed that the students themselves made the decision to enroll in Babcock University. The findings also showed that high academic standards informed their choice of Babcock University. Thus, it was concluded that students now take their academic destiny into their own hands by deciding in which university to study to realise their dreams for the desired future. The researcher recommended to the university administrators to continue to improve on their academic programmes and communication activities to get students and parents more positively engaged with the institutions so that the high enrolment of students in Babcock University is sustained.
