Theoretical Review of Voters’ Turnout during the 2019 General Elections in Nigeria

Abstract

The study is a discourse on voters’ turn out during the 2019 general elections in Nigeria. Theoretical review of the works of reputable scholars and analysis of the elections were empirically employed as the methodology, in addition to the use of behavioural theory in gauging the voters’ turnouts in the analysis of the 2019 general elections, particularly, on the political culture of the people in the six geopolitical zones. The researchers recommended that credibility, capacity of a candidate should be employed in the choice of a president as against sectional or tribal correlation. This is in addition to voter education.
