Instructions for Authors

SAU Science-Tech Journal invites scholars and researchers to submit their scholarly articles that have not been and will not be published elsewhere for publishing in the forthcoming issue.

SAU Sci-Tech. J requests the manuscript should be written in English of publishable standard.  Authors should compile manuscript in MS word with Times New Roman font type, 12 point font size and double line spacing on A4 sized papers using the following layout.   

Title should be concise, describing the contents of the paper. The Title Page should include the authors’ surname in full name followed by initials of other names (with Surname(s) first & clearly demarcated with a coma) and affiliations, the name of the corresponding author along with e-mail and phone number.

Abstract should be informative and self-explanatory, briefly introduce and state the scope of the research, indicate significant data, and point out major findings and conclusions. The abstract should not exceed 200 words. Standard nomenclature should be used and abbreviations should be avoided. No literature should be cited. Graphical abstract where necessary should be direct and clear with regards to the results.

Keywords should be provided immediately after the abstract for indexing purpose. A maximum of five (5) words in italics are required.

Introduction should provide a clear statement of the problem, an adequate background on the subject, and the objectives of the work. It should be understandable to audience from a broad range of scientific disciplines.

Materials and Methods should provide sufficient detail to allow the procedures to be reproduced. However, methods already published should only be cited. New procedures and modifications of published procedure should be described in details.

Results should be presented with clarity and precision. Results should be explained, but largely without referring to the literature.

Discussion should provide detailed interpretation and significance of the findings in the results obtained. State the conclusions in a few sentences at the end of the paper.

Conclusion should include the most important idea of the experiment, the author’s own findings, possible solutions to the problem, recommendations for further research, etc.

The Acknowledgments of people, grants, funds, laboratories etc is required but should be brief.

Tables should be kept to a minimum and be designed to be as simple as possible. Tables should be prepared in Microsoft Word and included directly in text and numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals and supplied with a heading above the Table. Tables should be self-explanatory without reference to the text.

Figures should be numbered and are included directly in text. Graphics should be prepared using applications capable of generating high resolution before pasting in the Microsoft Word manuscript file.  Use Arabic numerals to designate Figures along with concise titles at the bottom of the Figure.

References: The 7th edition of APA reference style is required.

Submission and Peer Review of Manuscripts

Manuscripts should be sent as email attachments and addressed to the editor at any of these email addresses: or and you will receive a confirmation of receipt. Submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers, who are expected to make reports with recommendations to either accept, accept subject to minor or major corrections or reject the manuscript. Author(s) will be informed of the decision on their manuscript(s) within one month of submission. Please note that fully typed work on A4 paper that exceeds ten (10) pages will attract extra charge(s) per extra page

 Acceptance and Publication of Manuscripts

Authors will be notified via an Acceptance Letter after the final acceptance of the manuscripts by the editor. The accepted manuscripts will be immediately copyedited, typeset, paginated and proofread for eventual publication in the next issue of the journal.


Authors of accepted manuscripts are required to pay handling and publication fees of Twenty Five Thousand Naira (N25,000.00) only to SAU Science-Tech Journal.
