A NEW SECOND DERIVATIVE BLOCK METHOD FOR SOLVING ORDINARY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

Abstract

A new block hybrid second derivative method (NBHSDM) is proposed in this paper for the solution of first order
initial value problem in ordinary differential equations. The method is derived using interpolation and collocation
techniques of power series used as approximate solution of the initial value problems. The method consists of
three methods combined to form block matrix. The analysis of the basic properties of stability and convergence
of the methods were presented. Numerical examples are presented to show the efficiency and suitability for
solving ODEs
